Vicky Christina Barcelona

Bought the Blu-ray version of Woody Allen‘s film “Vicky Christina Barcelona“.
Not really familiar with his kinds of movies.
I did see “Match Point” and that was a great film.
Reading reviews he is either hit or miss.
I liked that he charted different countries to film his movies than the usual New York City movies. That this one being filmed in Barcelona.

No special features in the Blu-Ray version, just the movie.

This is a great romantic funny movie.
Its one of those dry humor ones where the conversation between the characters is real and cynical.
My favorite part has to be when Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz are arguing on the streets, that was too funny.

Scarlett Johansson playing Christina looks so beautiful and I seem to watch her movies where she isn’t in the USA. I loved her in “Lost In Translation”.

Penelope Cruz looked sultry, pretty and she is such a scene stealer.
I hope she win “Best Actress in a Supporting Role” at the Oscars.
Reading the info that if she wins, it will be a trend for Woody Allen having actresses win that category and be the fourth time.

While Rebecca Hall (Surprise she is a British and playing an American) playing Vicky look plain Jane. She just reminds me of Diane Keaton (From Annie Hall which I haven’t seen). Maybe she will be the next Diane Keaton.

About the film, the story is well written. I didn’t get bored at all watching it.
Movie is directed well.
Loved the scenery of Barcelona and makes want to go visit there.
The cast is amazing and well acted, with Penelope she made it 10 times better and wished she had more screen time.
Lots of funny quirky moments.

The only part I didn’t like was the narration, maybe I like the movie to go without the subtle details of the character’s mind.
Also the kiss with Scarlett and Penelope, don’t know why entertainment shows made a big deal about it. It was only for a few seconds.

Overall its a great movie to enjoy.
Makes me want to go see old Woody Allen films.
