Yards of Chinatown [Photos]
Today I went to this cool art show and community event at Ottawa’s Chinatown area.
The event was called Yards Of Chinatown
Here is a blurb from the event.
Chinatown- a place of mystery and intrigue. Where cultures collide, rules of aesthetic don’t apply and you can score a mean dumpling on almost every block.
In Ottawa, Chinatown is particularly special because its diversity gives the city a lot to feed off of.
The people in this neighborhood seem willing to work together and create new and hybrid forms of culture.
Although, this mash-up is happening in other parts of the world, we feel it is something worth celebrating!
Join UnderBelly Artists Collective as they host their first event, YARDS OF CHINATOWN, in celebration of the ‘hood that eclectically mixes people, art and ideas
Nestled in the friendly back-streets of Cambridge, the YARDS OF CHINATOWN initiative will connect artists, musicians, performers and aficionados to the residents of chinatown and the rest of the city.
Come out and help us support and encourage the heroic cultural experiments of some of the gracefully over-ambitious citizens that create and innovate.
Here are the photos from the event.
For the live music part, it is here.
